OMG, YOU’RE ENGAGED!! Congratulations to both of you!

I am pretty sure your brain is going a mile a minute while you come down for the high. I bet you envision yourself walking down the aisle now, but there this also a little panic because you don’t know where to start. Sound familiar? No worries, I got you.

Here are some of my tips on what you should do now that you are engaged! I will help you navigate through the beginning stages of your wedding.

You’re Engaged! Now What?!

Enjoy being a Fiance

I know your head is spinning after saying yes, but the most important thing to do is live in the moment. Take in everything around you!  This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment that you get to share with the two of you, enjoy it!

Share the News

It’s so important to share the great news with the ones you love. Remember to make time to call your friends and family. Tell them all about the proposal (if they didn’t know already). If you want, post it on all the social media platforms and scream it from the rooftop because YOU ARE ENGAGED!!

Set a Date

This is the part where you can sit down with your boo and talk logistics. Here are a few questions to help you figure out so here are a few questions that can help you:

• How long of an engagement do you want?
• What season do you want to be married in?
• Do you already have a date that has significance to you (parent anniversary, first time you said “I love you)

Create a budget

Let’s talk about money, it’s not as scary as you think. In today’s society, there is a way to get married on any budget. The goal of accomplishing this would be to solidify what you want out of your day and how important it is to you. If a photographer and videographer are more important than florals then make sure your budget reflects that. You can do it! Stay the course of what both of you want and I know you can make it happen.

Create Inspiration

It is time to get your Pinterest on! I am talking go to town and just make a board of all the things that catch your eye. Don’t worry about how it will happen or how much it cost, just let the creative juices flow. You can worry about the logistics later. It helps you later down the road to have all of your ideas in one place.

Elope or Small Wedding

If you are having a hard time figuring out whether you should elope or not. I wrote a blog on if you should elope or not. If you answer yes to any of those questions then I suppose you should think about eloping. If you find that you want to celebrate with a small group of people then an intimate wedding might be for you.

Guest List

Once you know what type of ceremony you would like to have, you can now figure out who you are going to invite. Knowing how many people you want to invite will also play a part in your budget. So talk to your partner and figure that out and then make sure it is communicated to your family and friends. It’s your day so invite you who you want.

Vendors

Once you have all of the above figured out, it is time to start looking into vendors. When vetting the vendors that you want here is a guide that will help you ask some questions that can narrow down your choice.
